At the cut-off points for mild depression of 53, the PROMIS measures had sensitivity (0.83 for PROMIS-D-CAT and 0.80 for PROMIS-D-SF) similar to or better than 6/7 legacy measures with high negative predictive value (> 90%). At cut-off points of 60 for moderate depression, PROMIS measures had specificity > 90%, similar to or better than all legacy measures and positive predictive value ≥ 0.50 (similar to 5/7 legacy measures). Conclusions: The convergent and criterion validity of the PROMIS depression measures in cancer populations was confirmed, although the optimal cut-off points are not established. PROMIS measures were briefer than BDI-II and CES-D but do not offer any advance in terms of diagnostic accuracy, reduced response burden or cost over other legacy measures of depression in oncology patients.]]> Wed 23 Feb 2022 16:02:07 AEDT ]]> Convergent and criterion validity of PROMIS anxiety measures relative to six legacy measures and a structured diagnostic interview for anxiety in cancer patients https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:51823 .80) were good for both PROMIS measures and comparable to or better than all legacy measures. At the recommended mild cut-point (55), PROMIS-A-SF had sensitivity (.67) comparable to or better than all the legacy measures, whereas PROMIS-A-CAT sensitivity (.59) was lower than GAD-7 (.67) and HADS-A (.62), but comparable to PSYCH-6 and higher than DASS-A, DASS-S and DT. Sensitivity for both was.79. A reduced cut-point of 51 on both PROMIS measures improved sensitivity (.83–.84) although specificity was only adequate (.61–.62). Conclusions: The convergent and criterion validity of the PROMIS anxiety measures in cancer populations was confirmed as equivalent, but not superior to, established measures (GAD-7 and HADS-A). The PROMIS-A-CAT did not demonstrate clear advantages over PROMIS-A-SF.]]> Wed 20 Sep 2023 10:14:01 AEST ]]> Implementing systematic screening and structured care for distressed callers using Cancer Council's telephone services: protocol for a randomized stepped-wedge trial https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:37173 Wed 19 Jan 2022 15:17:54 AEDT ]]> A patient-centred approach to determine optimal supportive care across the cancer trajectory: a cross-sectional study https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:49045 Wed 17 Apr 2024 13:12:16 AEST ]]> Dyadic coping in cancer and couple-based interventions https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:15957 Wed 11 Apr 2018 17:15:10 AEST ]]> The experience and effects of group improvisational music therapy amongst women recently diagnosed with breast cancer: a mixed methods study https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:6890 Wed 11 Apr 2018 17:11:12 AEST ]]> Supportive care needs of hematological cancer survivors: a critical review of the literature https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:14135 Wed 11 Apr 2018 15:35:24 AEST ]]> The Survivor Unmet Needs Survey (SUNS) for haematological cancer survivors: a cross-sectional study assessing the relevance and psychometric properties https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:18895 0.2). Criteria for discriminant validity was not met, with only 10 of the 15 (67%) a-priori hypotheses supported. Test-retest reliability was acceptable for 40 of the 89 items (45%) and for three of the five domains. Significant floor effects were evident for all five domains. Conclusions: The SUNS demonstrates evidence for multiple features of validity and reliability as a measure of unmet needs for haematological cancer survivors. However, evidence supporting some psychometric properties was limited.]]> Wed 11 Apr 2018 14:52:48 AEST ]]> Insights into preferences for psycho-oncology services among women with gynecologic cancer following distress screening https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:20605 Wed 09 Sep 2015 15:19:23 AEST ]]> Pin-pointing service characteristics associated with implementation of evidence-based distress screening and management in australian cancer services: data from a crosssectional study https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:48147 Wed 08 Mar 2023 14:43:59 AEDT ]]> Medical treatment decision-making in rural cancer patients: A qualitative systematic review and meta-synthesis https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:52171 Wed 04 Oct 2023 10:57:02 AEDT ]]> Assessing patients' experiences of cancer care across the treatment pathway: a mapping review of recent psychosocial cancer care publications https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:36524 Tue 26 May 2020 14:30:48 AEST ]]> Caregiver satisfaction with out-patient oncology services: utility of the FAMCARE instrument and development of the FAMCARE-6 https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:12266 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:10:07 AEDT ]]> Development and validation of the short-form survivor unmet needs survey (SF-SUNS) https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:19134 0.9).
